Our naturally grown heirloom asparagus seed produces a herbaceous, perennial plant which grows 40" – 60" tall. Heirloom Asparagus plants have stout stems with multi branched feathery foliage. The tiny, bell shaped off white flowers develop into a small red non-edible berry that holds the asparagus seed. Once established, an heirloom asparagus bed will last for many years with very little care.  Asparagus benefits from adding some salt to the bed. This will also keep the weeds down as your asparagus seed is growing. All asparagus seeds come to you in paper packets that are hand made. We grow, hand count and handle all our heirloom asparagus seeds ourselves.
