Sangre de Toro Bean Seeds. Sangre de Toro is also known as "Bull's Blood Bean" because of its deep red color that will shine in any bean dish you create with it. This heirloom pole type bean is native to Mexico and is sometimes harvested early at about 50 days and used as a fresh snap bean. Sangre de Toro Bean has long vines with white blooms and produce flat pods filled with 4 to 5 beans. The pods start out green and turn beautiful bright red as the pods dry, then change to tan when completely dry.  Make Sangre de Toro your go to for red beans with a meaty texture and hearty sweet flavor.  Newly harvested fully mature Heirloom Sangre de Toro Beans are bright red.  After harvest, as the bean dries further, the beans become more deep red colored.  Let fully mature for a dry bean and harvest Sangre de Toro at approximately 70 - 75 days.  Harvest Sangre de Toro as dry beans when the pod is dry and the bean can not easily be dented with your fingernail.  Packet contains approximately 50 seeds grown naturally with love and care.  Happy Planting!  We have a wide variety of Heirloom Vegetable, Herb, and Flower Seeds for sale.
