Texas Grano Onion Seeds.  Heirloom Texas Early Grano 502 Onion is a 1 pound yellow skinned onion.  Texas Grano 502 is a large globe shaped onion that has sweet white flesh with a pleasant mild flavor.  In 1933 Texas A&M began working with the U.S.D.A to develop a sweet onion able to grow in South Texas.  Texas Early Grano 502 Onion Seed was developed and officially introduced in 1944.  Texas Grano 502 is dubbed by some enthusiast as "The Mother of all Sweet Onions in the World." Texas Grano 502 was in the parentage of all "SuperSweet" onions such as Granex (Vidalia, Maui Maui and NoonDay) Texas Grano 1015Y and others.  Texas Grano 502 is a short day type that has a sweet flavor and a decent shelf life.  This is a great onion for the warm regions of the country as it can withstand some heat.  Harvest Texas Grano Onion at desired size.  115 days until harvest.  Packet contains approximately 300 seeds grown naturally with love and care.  Happy Planting!  We have a wide variety of Heirloom Vegetable, Herb, and Flower Seeds for sale.
