Ithaca Lettuce Seeds. Ithaca Heirloom Lettuce produces crisp heads that can grow 5 1/2" in diameter. We find the heads of Ithaca Lettuce to be looser wrapped than Iceberg. Ithaca's leaves are more crickled and heavily notched the color is brighter green than Iceberg. Ithaca Lettuce is very cold and heat tolerant and is also slow to bolt.  The flavor of Ithaca Lettuce is mild and sweet.  Ithaca Lettuce was developed at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.  For a nice full head of lettuce, you can harvest Ithaca Lettuce when it  reach your desired size.  We also like to use Ithaca as a leaf lettuce, continually harvesting the outer leaves as they get big enough.  Heirloom Ithaca Lettuce is great for using in salads and on sandwiches.  Ithaca Lettuce can be harvested at any stage of growth.  60 days until harvest of heads.  Packet contains approximately 250 seeds grown naturally with love and care.  Happy Planting!  We have a wide variety of Heirloom Vegetable, Herb, and Flower Seeds for sale.
