By the 18th century, it was commonly planted by both colonists and native American Indians. Heirloom Cabbages are prepared in many different ways for eating. They can be pickled, fermented for dishes such as sauerkraut or Kimchi, steamed, stewed, sautéed, braised, or eaten raw. Heirloom Cabbage is a good source of vitamin K, vitamin C and dietary fiber.
